Substation Commissioning Project Manager - Remote US Position

A leading global commissioning and consulting company is seeking an experienced Substation Commissioning Project Manager for a remote US-based position. This role involves extensive travel across the United States, Canada, and Mexico to support major infrastructure and data center projects.

The successful candidate will lead comprehensive end-to-end substation commissioning activities, including managing design reviews, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and L2-L5 testing procedures. Key responsibilities include overseeing startup and energization processes, coordinating with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), contractors, field teams, and client stakeholders across multiple concurrent commissioning projects.

This position requires a minimum of 10 years of substation commissioning experience with a strong background in high voltage and medium voltage electrical systems, particularly in the 12kV-34.5kV+ range. Candidates should have proven experience within utilities, data centers, Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC), or mission-critical infrastructure environments. Essential skills include the ability to effectively manage field technicians and commissioning teams while maintaining excellent client-facing communication capabilities.
