Maritime Electrician

We are seeking an experienced Maritime Electrician to join our team, responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of marine, industrial, and facility electrical systems. This hands-on role supports vessel operations, shipyard infrastructure, and facility maintenance while ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Key responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, control systems, and components in marine and industrial environments. You will diagnose electrical malfunctions using testing devices and hand tools, inspect systems to identify hazards and defects, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and marine standards. The role involves working with lighting systems, security systems, transformers, breakers, switches, outlets, and industrial equipment.

The successful candidate will construct, fabricate, and repair electrical components using hand and power tools, test electrical systems using multimeters and diagnostic equipment, and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Strong collaboration skills are essential as you will work with team members across departments to complete projects safely and efficiently.

Required qualifications include previous marine, industrial, commercial, or facilities electrical experience, strong understanding of electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques, and knowledge of safe work practices. Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) and industrial electrical standards is preferred. The ideal candidate possesses excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, can work independently and as part of a team, and maintains a professional demeanor when interacting with vessel crews, contractors, and facility personnel.

Preferred qualifications include journeyman-level electrical experience in marine or industrial environments, experience with PLCs and industrial automation systems, OSHA certification, and familiarity with marine vessel electrical systems. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
